Blogged under Front Page, Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 25 January 2007 at 3:38 pm

The Spurs allowed the Rockets to hit 50% from the floor and that did them in last night.  Can’t blame Tim Duncan for the loss as he scored 37 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 4 assists.  Manu Ginobili also had a decent game with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

Michael Finley needs to step it up

Blogged under Front Page, Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 24 January 2007 at 1:54 am

Finley has not played well lately and it’s hurt the Spurs a little bit.  In his last 8 games, Finley has averaged 20.1 minutes, 7.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.  His shooting has been way off as he’s only hitting 37.3% from the floor and only 23.3% from three-point range (7 of 30).  Finley needs to play better because the Spurs really depend on their bench to give them quality minutes.

Brent Barry steppin’ up for the Spurs

Blogged under Front Page, Steppin Up by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 24 January 2007 at 1:50 am

Brent Barry has been money off the bench as of late.  In his last 8 games, Barry has averaged 20.9 minutes, 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.  He’s also been really hot shooting the ball as he’s hitting 51% from the floor and 47.2% (17 of 36) of his three-point attempts.  The better he plays the more playing time he’ll get.

The Spurs nip the Celtics in Boston 93-89

The Celtics brought their A-game and gave the Spurs a good fight.  Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocked shots.  Tony Parker (15 points, 5 assists) and Manu Ginobili (15 points, 6 rebounds) each played well for the Spurs.  But this win was a good team effort.

Spurs fall 100-96 to the Lakers in San Antonio

Blogged under Front Page, Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Thursday 18 January 2007 at 2:10 pm

The Spurs couldn’t make the big shots when they needed to last night and that’s why they lost.  Tim Duncan had a good game with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  Tony Parker also did a good job last night directing the offense with 25 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Maun Ginobili gave a good effort against the Lakers with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Beno Udrih needs to play better or sit on the bench

Blogged under Front Page, Need to step up by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 16 January 2007 at 5:46 pm

When the Spurs brought in Beno Udrih he came with a reputation of being a big playmaker and a good shooter.  The Spurs are still waiting for those scouting reports to pan out.  Udrih has played in 37 games and he is averaging 15.2 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.  He also has been shooting real lousy as he’s only hit 35.6% from the floor.  He also is firing up alot of bricks from three-point range as he’s only hit 19 of 70 (27.1%) from that distance.  If he doesn’t start to play better he will see his playing time diminish.
