The San Antonio Spurs have acquired F/C Kurt Thomas from the Seattle Supersonics for G Brent Barry, C Francisco Elson and a first round pick in 2009. Thomas gives the Spurs another big body to team up with Tim Duncan along the front line. Thomas played in 42 games (39 starts) for the Sonics this season and he was averaging 25.2 minutes, 7.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He also shot 51.3% from the floor with the Sonics. Thomas has now played in 789 games (565 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 27.6 minutes, 9.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. This was a good move for the Spurs who needed some help in the frontcourt.

36-year old Brent Barry played in 29 games (1 start) this season for the Spurs and he averaged 7.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Barry is a good shooter from anywhere on the court as he shot 46.1% from the floor, 40.7% from three point range and 82.1% from the free throw line. Francisco Elson played in 41 games (3 starts) this season for the Spurs and he averaged 13.0 minutes, 3.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.
