The San Antonio Spurs sign Theo Ratliff

The Spurs have signed 36-year old center Theo Ratliff. Ratliff played in 46 games (0 starts) with the 76ers last season and he averaged 12.6 minutes, 1.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game. He has now played in 751 games (504 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 26.1 minutes, 7.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 0.6 assists and 2.5 blocked shots per game. Ratliff should be able to give the Spurs some defense and rebounding off the bench next season.

The San Antonio Spurs bring back Michael Finley

The Spurs have re-signed 36-year old shooting guard Michael Finley to a 1-year deal. Finley played in 81 games (77 starts) for the Spurs last season and he averaged 28.8 minutes, 9.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Finley also nailed 41.1% of his three point attempts last season making him a very lethal weapon for the Spurs. Finley has now played in 1,057 games (868 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 35.3 minutes, 16.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Despite his career winding down, Finley still has a lot to offer the Spurs.

Antonio McDyess signs with the San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs have signed 34-year old PF Antonio McDyess to a 3-year contract. He played in 62 games (30 starts) for the Pistons last season and he averaged 30.1 minutes, 9.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. McDyess has now played in 865 games (579 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 29.0 minutes, 13.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. McDyess will start at power forward with the Spurs moving Tim Duncan to center. The Spurs really look like the team to beat in the NBA this season now.
