With 34-year old PF/C Tim Duncan getting older the Spurs have wanted to watch his minutes this year so that he can stay healthy and fresh. So far, so good. Duncan has played in 47 games (all starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 29.3 minutes, 13.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game. The Spurs know what side of the bread is buttered on, as Duncan is still the best player on the team and he’s the one guy that can’t replace.

The Spurs shot 51.4% from the floor last night and it was a big reason for the win. Manu Ginobili led the way for the Spurs last night with 22 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 2 steals. Richard Jefferson (18 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist) and Tony Parker (17 points and 5 assists) also had solid games for the Spurs last night. George Hill (14 points), DeJuan Blair (14 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots) and Tim Duncan also pitched in. The Spurs are now 40-7 on the year.

The Spurs shot 51.3% from the floor last night and it helped them prevail over the Jazz in Utah. Manu Ginobili (26 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals) and Tony Parker (23 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists) led the way for the Spurs last night. Richard Jefferson pitched in with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist in this game. Tim Duncan (13 points), Gary Neal (13 points) and George Hill (10 points) also had decent games for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 39-7 on the year.

The Spurs shot 50% from the floor and they outrebounded the Warriors 46-36 last night in Oakland which were the two biggest reasons for the win. Manu Ginobili led the way for the Spurs last night with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal. Tony Parker (18 points, 3 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals) and Tim Duncan (16 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in 27 minutes) also had solid games for the Spurs last night. Antonio McDyess (14 points), George Hill (14 points) and Gary Neal (11 points) also had solid games for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 38-7 on the year.

New Orleans Hornets 96, San Antonio Spurs 72

The Spurs got whacked 31-10 in the 3rd quarter but the Hornets last night in New Orleans and that ended the competitive part of this game. The Spurs only shot 36.2% from the floor and they were outrebounded 57-32 which helps explain the beating they took last night. Tiago Splitter led the way for the Spurs last night with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assists and 1 steal in 25 minutes on the floor. Tony Parker (10 points and 2 rebounds) and Richard Jefferson (9 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 37-7 on the year.

San Antonio Spurs 101, New York Knicks 92

The Spurs outrebounded the Knicks 50-44 and they held the Knicks to 37.8% shooting from the floor which explains the relatively easy home win last night. Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs last night with 21 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 blocked shots. Tony Parker did a great job of running the show on offense as he finished up with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 13 assists. DeJuan Blair also had a monster game as he finished up with 18 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals and 3 blocked shots in 42 minutes on the floor. Manu Ginobili (16 points) and Gary Neal (10 points) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 37-6 on the year.

The Spurs needed 33-year old shooting guard Manu Ginobili to start this year instead of coming off the bench and he has been outstanding so far this year. Ginobili has played in 42 games (all starts) so far this year for the Spurs and he is averaging 31.7 minutes, 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Ginobili is the leading scorer for the Spurs so far this year and he has really lessened the pressure on Tim Duncan as far as scoring goes, which has really helped him so far this year.

The Spurs are really getting solid production off the bench from their rookie crop so far this year. 26-year old undrafted guard Gary Neal has played the best of this trio so far this year. Neal has played in 42 games (0 starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 18.8 minutes, 8.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. Neal came out of nowhere to be a very productive member of the Spurs’ very deep and talented backcourt. The Spurs waited a while before 26-year old center Tiago Splitter was ready to come to the States. Splitter has played in 31 games (0 starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 11.0 minutes, 4.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Splitter hasn’t played much as of late as he’s pretty far down on the depth chart, but, look for that to change in the future as he is a very talented player. 21-year old SG/SF James Anderson was looking good early this year before suffering a serious injury. Anderson has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 17.7 minutes, 7.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.5 assists per game. He is getting close to a return for the Spurs.

The Spurs outscored the Raptors 62-42 in the second half last night and they also outrebounded them 49-38! Manu Ginobili led the way for the Spurs last night with 23 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal. DeJuan Blair stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Tony Parker did a good job of directing the offense as he finished up with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Tim Duncan was also busy with 10 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocked shots last night. George Hill pitched in with 14 points in 28 minutes off the bench. The Spurs are now 36-6 on the year.

The Spurs shot 51.5% from the floor last night and it helped them put away the Nuggets rather easily. Tony Parker led the way for the Spurs last night with 30 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Manu Ginobili only shot 5 of 15 from the floor but he still finished up with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 7 asssists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. George Hill (14 points), Gary Neal (14 points) and Richard Jefferson (10 points) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now an amazing 35-6 on the year.
