The Spurs finished up the first half of the 2011-12 season with a 24-10 record which has them in first place in the Southwest Division. The Spurs are also #2 in the Western Conference right now, 3 games behind the Thunder. Here is a look at the players who made the biggest impact for the Spurs in the first half of the season in my opinion:

Team MVP: Tony Parker: 29-year old point guard Tony Parker played in 33 games (all starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 34.3 minutes, 19.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Parker is scoring more while dishing out more assists than usual as he is playing the best basketball of his NBA career in 2011-12.

Biggest Surprise: Danny Green: 24-year old SG/SF Danny Green has really stepped up and helped fill in for injuries this year. He has played in 34 games (8 starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 23.1 minutes, 7.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Green is playing the best basketball of his young career and the Spurs hope he keeps up the good work.

Biggest Disappointment: James Anderson: 22-year old SG/SF James Anderson has played pretty awful basketball so far this year. Anderson has played in 25 games (1 start) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 12.6 minutes, 4.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He is only shooting 34.3% from the floor so far this year and that isn’t going to help him get more P.T. moving forward in 2011-12.
