DeJuan Blair has been rock solid for the San Antonio Spurs in 2011-12

22-year old DeJuan Blair has really played well so far this year for the Spurs. He has played in 49 games (all starts) for the Spurs so far this year and he is averaging 21.6 minutes, 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Blair is shooting 53% from the floor as most of his shots come from in close to the basket. He still is having issues with free throws as he is only hitting 56.7% from that distance. Blair is a tough guy around the basket and he’s a good complement to Tim Duncan.

The Spurs shot 53.8% from the floor and they outrebounded the Kings 42-34 last night which led them to victory. Manu Ginobili (20 points, 1 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 blocked shot in 25 minutes), Kawhi Leonard (19 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals) and Tim Duncan (18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists) led the way for the Spurs in this game. Gary Neal (13 points) and Tony Parker (10 points) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 35-14 on the year.

The Spurs outrebounded the Suns 48-38 and they outscored them 23-17 in the 4th quarter to surge to victory. Tim Duncan (26 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) and Tony Parker (24 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists) led the way for the Spurs last night. Kawhi Leonard also had a solid game as he finished up with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Manu Ginobili (13 points) and Matt Bonner (10 points) also pitched in for the Spurs in this game. The Spurs are now 34-14 on the year.

The Spurs turned up the D last night. Tony Parker (21 points, 1 rebound and 7 assists) and DeJuan Blair (19 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals) led the way for the Spurs last night. Kawhi Leonard (11 points), Manu Ginobili (11 points), Matt Bonner (10 points) and Daniel Green (10 points) also pitched in for the Spurs in this game. The Spurs are now 33-14 on the year.

The Spurs nipped the Hornets last night in New Orleans. DeJuan Blair led the way for the Spurs with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Stephen Jackson (14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal), Tim Duncan (13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots) and Tony Parker (12 points, 2 rebounds, 10 assists and 1 steal) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 32-14 on the year.

The Spurs have released 27-year old power forward Eric Dawson. Dawson played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Spurs this year and he averaged 9.8 minutes, 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. This isn’t much of a loss for the Spurs as they have pretty good depth up front.

The Spurs outrebounded the Mavericks 54-34 and they held them to a paltry 38.3% shooting from the floor last night, which helps explain the blowout win. Daniel Green led the way for the Spurs last night with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Tim Duncan (15 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists) and Matt Bonner (14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocked shots) also had a solid game last night. Kawhi Leonard (12 points), Manu Ginobili (11 points) and Stephen Jackson (10 points) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 31-14 on the year.

The San Antonio Spurs sign Boris Diaw

The Spurs have signed 29-year old Boris Diaw for the remainder of the season. Diaw can handle playing any position on the basketball court. He played in 37 games (28 starts) for the Bobcats earlier this year and he averaged 27.5 minutes, 7.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Diaw has now played in 660 games (461 starts) in his first 9 years in the NBA and he is averaging 30.3 minutes, 9.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. His versatility is going to be what really helps the Spurs down the stretch. I love this signing for them.

Tim Duncan led the way for the Spurs last night with 21 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Kawhi Leonard (16 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot), Stephen Jackson (16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals) and Gary Neal (16 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 4 steals) also had rock solid games last night. Daniel Green (14 points) and Tiago Splitter (11 points) also pitched in for the Spurs last night. The Spurs are now 30-14 on the year.

The San Antonio Spurs sign Patrick Mills

The Spurs have signed 23-year old point guard Patrick Mills to a 2-year deal. Mills played in 64 games (0 starts) for the Blazers last year and he averaged 12.2 minutes, 5.5 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. He has now played in 74 games (0 starts) in his first two years in the NBA and he has averaged 11.1 minutes, 5.1 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. This was a solid move for the Spurs as Mills has a lot of potential.
