Gregg Popovich keeps the San Antonio Spurs rolling along in 2012-13

63-year old head coach Gregg Popovich has his Spurs playing well again so far in 2012-13. The Spurs are 23-8 (74.2%) so far this year, which has them in first place in the Southwest Division of the NBA, 2.5 games ahead of the Grizzlies. The Spurs are now 870-407 in the regular season in Popovich’s first 17 years on the job. He is a 2-time NBA Coach of the Year and he has won Four NBA Titles with the Spurs. Popovich is a master of giving his older players time off, which keeps his bench very sharp.

63-year old Gregg Popovich got his Spurs to play really well in 2012-13. The Spurs were 50-16 (75.8%) during the regular season and 10-4 (71.4%) in the playoffs last year. The Spurs are now 847-399 (68%) in his first 16 regular seasons with the Spurs. Those 847 wins are #13 in NBA history for a head coach. The Spurs are also 118-77 (60.5%) in the playoffs on Popovich’s watch. He has led the Spurs to four NBA titles so far in his career and he will be trying to win one for the thumb in 2012-13.

He also went 10-4 (71.4%) in the playoffs for the Spurs this year. Popovich now has a 847-399 (68%) record in his first 16 years with the Spurs during the regular season. He is also 118-77 (60.5%) in the post-season with the Spurs. Popovich has led the San Antonio Spurs to 4 NBA Championships and he will be a Hall of Fame coach shortly after he retires.
